Rundown of Current Documentary Projects

I have a few things in the works.

Trinity. This will be a short documentary film examining the development and testing of the first atomic bomb from the perspective of a guy whose father did not storm the beaches of Japan. It’s basically a road-trip film to the Trinity site while three boomers process the experience. Pre-production is finished. I’ve completed preliminary interviews and b-roll at the University of Chicago. The trip occurs this spring. I expect to finish the film in May.

Back-to-the-land in the Ozarks (working title). I’m the cinematographer for a director capturing the history of the back-to-the-land movement of the 1970s in interviews with the people who chose the Ozarks to build a different life. We’re still in production.

The Ripples of History (working title): The town of Osceola, Missouri was burned by raiders during the early part of the Civil War. But it was part of the long-festering conflict between Missouri and Kansas. The town of Humboldt, Kansas was burned in response. What if the two towns got together for a Civil War festival and processed their histories? Still in pre-production with some limited production completed to create the concept teaser. Production happens this fall. I expect to complete the film next winter.
