If we buy less, businesses produce less, more employees lose their jobs, those people buy less, more businesses produce less, ad infinitum. It's a vicious cycle that only keeps this recession going. I'm not advocating purchasing things you don't need with money you don't have, but using your money to buy the things you want is how the economy works.
