Some Stupid With a Flare Gun
Yes! Today I made the Guinness Book of World Records along with more than 1,600 people in Kansas City. We all met at the T-Bones ballpark to set the record for the most number of people to play Smoke on the Water at the same time. KYYS sponsored the event–my favorite radio station during my 20 years in KC. The event drew 1,683 guitarists and broke the old record of 1,322–held since 1994.
Here’s the story from the Kansas City Star.
I’m the one on the right. Note the official Rhetorica cap. With me is my buddy Kenny Kieser. We’ve been running together for more than 20 years. Keep a watch out for his new novel. It goes on sale in October. It’s a western entitled Ride the Trail of Death.

So it’s been a long time since my last Rhetorica Podcast. This seemed like a good time to get back into the swing of it. What you’ll hear is a bit of the famous Smoke riff. Don’t expect very much. I’m a beginner. My wife gave me the guitar for my 50th birthday back in December. Best birthday present EVERRRR!

FYI I had an entry snafu and lost two comments. Sorry.
Dr. Cline, let’s hope you’re a better guitar player than a fisherman.:)
Hmmmmmm…and what would you know of that?
