Thanks for this tonight, Andy. It was fun.
Jason… You bet. Will do it again tonight. Please join if you like.
Looks like you had a good crowd. I’m passing on the whole event in real-time; I will watch (and read) the big two (or three or maybe four, if there’s a fourth) speeches later. Or at least that’s the plan.
As I am (a) a lefty Democrat, and (2) interested in political rhetoric and its uses, I don’t feel compelled to watch and listen, and watching and listening isn’t fun (as the speakers often not only disagree with me but insult me) (not that doing so is bad, and of course my side does it, too, but it takes a lot of the fun away). I’m somewhat interested in the behavior of the press, mostly as a question of how the campaigns play them, but not enough to actually listen to the blathering. Even during my convention, it was C-SPAN or nothing.
I did enjoy going through the live-blog transcript, typos and all, even if I won’t be joining you for this one. Thanks for doing it.
