Rhetorica update…
I’m making a change to my blogging schedule, and I will edit the right-hand sidebar accordingly later this evening. For the rest of this semester, I’ll post after 8:30 a.m. on MWF and “when time allows” on TR. Tuesdays and Thursdays are filled with teaching and office hours, so blogging on those days will likely be sporadic.
Paul Katona and I will tape Radio Rhetorica on Friday morning, but it will play on Monday morning as usual. I have a pressing engagement this Monday that will take me out of town most of the day.
The students in my Introduction to Journalism class have chosen a new name for j.Blog 270. It’s now called The Journ Burn. I don’t get it either, but it’s their blog and it won overwhelmingly in the vote. I liked Bang It Out and Bear Bias, both of which earned the fewest votes of the six suggested names. Oh well. I’ll make the name change later tonight. By early next week the entire class will be posting regularly. You may wish to see their first stabs at finding the structural biases in some current news articles/coverage.

Down here in North Texas one of the pro soccer teams is the Dallas Burn. Journ rhymes. Sounds good. Go, Burn.

Hope you are enjoying Missouri–or at least the new part of it, or were you in KC Kansas?
I lived for 20 years in KCMO. But this move feels, some days, like a million miles away.
