Rhetorica: Press-Politics Journal

April 20, 2004

Voice of reason…

I have a bad case of short-timer-itis. The semester and my time at Park University are nearly at an end. Today’s Radio Rhetorica show is the penultimate broadcast.

We may have a guest today. Ben wants to do a segment on religion on campus and has invited the pastor of his church. But I did not get confirming e-mail from him about it, so I’m not entirely sure what’s happening. I’ll be filling the first hour. Ben may be filling the second. We’ll see.

Next week, Jay Manifold will be here for the ultimate broadcast. I think that’s a good way to sign off for the summer. Assuming I can get the air time, Radio Rhetorica will be back in the fall on the student station at SMS.

Until then, you might listen to Air America. Then again, you might not. I’ve been catching a few minutes of The O’Franken Factor nearly every day. It’s good for a chuckle. David Shaw, on the other hand, good media critic that he is, listened recently to all 17 hours of an Air America broadcast day and lived to write about it. He’s not impressed.

A re-cap of the week on Rhetorica and anything else I can dream up between now and 11:00 :-)
