Say what?…

There are few things as amusing to an academic as when a bought-and-paid-for think-tanker attempts a “study” and journalists attempt to cover it. Bob Somerby takes down a recent study by the Center for Media and Public Affairs that purports to measure the positive and negative statements about the war in Iraq by four TV news organizations (the nightly news programs for CBS, ABC, NBC and FOX’s Special Report With Brit Hume).

Somerby cogently points out the problems with such “research.” CNN and MSNBC were left out of the study. And Robert Lichter, the president of CNP, is a paid FOX commentator.

Hahahahaha! Ahem…well, I warned you we eggheads find this kind of thing amusing.
