J-blogging blues…

Should journalists write independent blogs? CyberJournalsit.net offers two views this morning from J.D. Lasica and University of Illinois journalism professor Eric Meyer.

I think a reporter writing an independent blog presents certain problems for his/her employer, although I’m not prepared to say blogs should be forbidden. In any case, I think it’s a good idea for news organizations to offer their reporters “official” blogs. Why fight the tide?
