Plagiarism…
Here’s a rundown of the plagiarism flap involving The Agonist.
I didn’t hop on this one right away for several reasons: 1) It is my policy (I should post these) to refrain from criticizing bloggers. The topic of this blog is press-politics, not blogging. 2) The plagiarism in this case is rather obvious. What more can I add except my “I deplore this.” 3) I do not think this incident casts a bad light on blogging any more than I think the plagiarism of Stephen Ambrose or Doris Kearns Goodwin casts a bad light on history scholarship.
Bloggers are not journalists (see here and here). But, as commenters in the public sphere, we are certainly bound by the same rules of etiquette (not to mention law) regarding plagiarism.

That is just terrible, why do people not take a day sit down and write an orginal draft its not that hard… steals the ideas of others is one thing but taken those ideas in prose from is just ridicul(e)s…
Well it seems somewhat clear that not only is the content ripped off, but so too is the design of his website… I read some of the stuff, it’s obvious that virtually none of the content is his out except ‘click here’ ha ha ha… Thanks for putting this up, I have a large plagiarism issue in one of my classes, I might use this issue and build the whole discussion around the problem. thanks.
